The Beer Institute has launched a "Faces of Beer" website to highlight people and careers supported by the beer industry.
The new website will showcase "a wide array of beer industry employees and how they personally help grow, create, produce and deliver quality beers across the U.S.," according to the association. Among those featured on the site is a farmer who grows barley used to brew beer, and the general manager of an Anheuser-Busch brewery in Williamsburg, Va.
"The beer industry is a leading job creator employing Americans from nearly every community in the U.S., and we want to showcase the great work of these individuals," said Jim McGreevy, CEO of the Beer Institute. "The transformation of hops and barley to a cold, refreshing brew involves the painstaking work of hundreds of thousands of innovative people across many different industries."
Nearly 65,000 Americans are directly employed by brewers and importers, according to the association. In addition, more than 134,000 Americans work for beer distributors and other supplier jobs intertwined with the beer industry.
